Birth Trauma
Much research and common sense suggest that mechanical traction by a physician must be increased due to the position of a birthing mother in a hospital bed. This unnaturally forces the mother to work against gravity and reduces the size of the pelvic opening. These two factors require a physician to perform increased twisting and pulling to remove a child from the birth canal, thus setting the stage for a multitude of problems. Spinal cord and brainstem injuries, brain bleeding and swelling, breathing problems, and even sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) have been linked to specific incidents of birth trauma.
Some of the less obvious conditions definitively linked to birth trauma include neurological deficits (aka palsies), headaches, learning disabilities, visual and auditory issues, and a host of functional immune system problems, such as frequent infection.
Robert S. Mendelsohn, MD, a leading pediatrician and vocal advocate of home delivery, discusses how babies delivered in the hospital are six times more likely to suffer distress during delivery. His books raise many other valid points, which natural health advocates have observed and defended for decades.
The point here is to avoid damage at all costs. Once damage has been sustained, however, other options are limited unless chiropractic care is enlisted. Divine Design Natural Health knows that your child deserves the best care from compassionate and healing hands. Many experience remarkable results when chiropractic and kids come together.
